James C. Evans
James co-founded Alpine and serves as Chief Executive Officer. He is also Co-Founder and Managing Partner of 29 South Co., a private capital firm focused on middle-market energy, industrial, and industrial technology businesses. Previously he was Co-Founder, President and CFO of RockPile Energy Services. Prior to RockPile, he was an investment professional at Harren Equity Partners and began his career in GE's Financial Management Program. He serves on the Board of Trustees of ACE Scholarships. He holds BS and MS degrees from Wake Forest University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
R. Curt Dacar
Curt co-founded Alpine and serves as Chairman of its board. He was Co-Founder and CEO of RockPile Energy Services, which he led from launch through its sale to Keane Group. Prior to RockPile, Curt spent 32 years at Schlumberger, culminating as VP of Sales and Marketing for the Western United States. He holds a BS from Regis University and an MS from Heriot-Watt University.
Tom Florence
Tom co-founded Alpine and leads commercial development and customer relationships. He brings more than ten years of experience in operations and business development across the midstream and energy services sectors, most recently as Director of Business Development at TSS, an industry leader in proppant logistics. He holds BS degrees in Finance and Economics from the University of Alabama and an MBA in Energy Finance from TCU.
Ben Sprague
Ben co-founded Alpine and leads field operations. He has over fifteen years of experience in the oilfield, beginning his career at BJ Services and Calfrac Well Services. Ben was previously Permian Basin District Manager at RockPile Energy Services and has also held senior roles at Quantum Oilfield Solutions and Gladiator Energy.
Austin Hostetler
Austin leads Alpine's finance function, including capital planning, treasury, and accounting. He has spent his career in finance roles across the oilfield services sector, previously serving as Co-Founder and Director of Finance at Rocky Mountain Investor Holdings. Austin joined Alpine in 2024 and studied Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa.
